Drop Off and Pick up

Enter Griffith Elementary off of Palm Lane. As you enter the parking lot turn left and drive toward the gym.

Every Monday morning, we ask all parents to park and walk their child into camp to meet the staff. All other mornings and every afternoon we provide a “kiss and go” drop off/pick up. The times of “kiss and go” are from 8:20-8:40am and 3:30-3:45. If you arrive at any other time, please park and walk to the gym to pick up your camper. The camp phone number is 602-432-9938 if the group is not in the gym.

Half day campers will be picked up in the gym at 11:30am.

Free Swim

  • Days of the week: Monday - Thursday afternoon
    • **NO swimming week of May 26th. The City of Phoenix pool is not opened during this weeks.
  • Location: City of Phoenix Pierce Pool
    • Directly across the street from Griffith Elementary. Campers and staff walk to and from swimming.
  • Safety: City lifeguards guard the pool. There will be Lifeguard Certified Hubbard staff on deck during swim time observing our campers even when city lifeguards are on duty. Additional Hubbard staff will be in the water watching the campers.
    • Swim Test: The city lifeguards administer a swim test. Campers must swim the width (about 20 yards) of the pool independently. Campers who do not pass the swim test will be given a life vest (US Coast Guard approved) to wear while swimming.

Griffith Elementary - David Allison

David heard about Camp Hubbard when his son attended the Teen Leadership camp in 2018. Education, fitness and community seem to define David’s personal and professional life. After running D1 cross country and track and field at the University of Pennsylvania, he graduated with a B.A. in English Literature, then moved to Europe and taught ESL in the Czech Republic for nearly two years. After returning home, David taught middle school and high school English in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.David left teaching in 2002 and pursued some entrepreneurial interests, attempted to make the 2008 U.S. Men’s Olympic Marathon Trials and then began working for various organizations in marketing for 12 years. In 2019, David decided to return to his first professional passion, education, and this fall will be working as a high school English teacher at the American Leadership Academy in Gilbert, as well as being their head Cross Country Coach. David has over 20 years of running coaching experience. He is the co-founder and co-head coach of Phoenix Flyers Track club. Beyond his running expertise, David has also coached middle school and youth basketball, flag football, and soccer teams over the past 15 years. David and his lovely wife, Zoraida, of 21 years moved to Phoenix in 2005. They have two amazing and active kids, Isabella and Charlie.
