Enter Griffith Elementary off of Palm Lane. As you enter the parking lot, turn left and drive toward the gym.
Every morning and afternoon, we provide a “kiss and go” drop off/pick up. “Kiss and go” is from 8:20-8:30am and 3:30-3:40. Simply pull up and drop your campers off. The counselors will ask a few screening questions and welcome them into the camp in the morning. In the afternoon, parents will need to sign out our youngest campers (Diamonbacks). We ask that parents bring their own pen. If you arrive at any other time, please park and walk to the gym to pick up your camper. Call the Camp phone number if the group is not in the gym.
Half day campers will be picked up in the drop off/pick up area at 11:30am.
Monday - Thursday campers will be at the pool from about 12:45pm - 2:15pm.
Days of the Week: Monday - Thursday afternoon **NO swimming week of May 26th. The City of Phoenix pool is not opened during this weeks.
Location: City of Phoenix Pierce Pool - Directly across the street from Griffith Elementary. Campers and staff walk to and from swimming.
Safety: City lifeguards guard the pool. There will be Lifeguard Certified Hubbard staff on deck during swim time observing our campers even when city lifeguards are on duty. Additional Hubbard staff will be in the water watching the campers.
Swim Test: The city lifeguards administer a swim test. Campers must swim the width (about 20 yards) of the pool independently. Campers who do not pass the swim test or choose not to take it, will be given a life vest (US Coast Guard approved) to wear while swimming.
Trevor Krause is joining us for his first year here at Camp Hubbard and is very excited to join the Hubbard community. For the past two years, he has taught 8th grade science in the Kyrene School District and has also coached baseball and track and field at the school. Trevor moved to Arizona with his wife in 2018 from Michigan where they were born and raised. Trevor graduated from Wheaton College in 2014 and he also was a player on the school's baseball and hockey team. After working in real estate and as a summer counselor, Trevor went back to school and received his teaching certificate in 2017 from Calvin College. He has a passion for working with and teaching kids and is looking forward to a great summer at camp.
